Papirfly
Papirfly was developed as an art-focused bar and event space at Fornebu, located in a large, open garage-like unit within the preserved logistics buildings of the former Oslo airport. The concept embraced the rawness of the industrial structure while introducing warmth, detail, and artistic intervention. The interior was designed as a refined yet rough environment, where exposed concrete and steel met plants, custom elements, and curated artworks. Space dividers and a long, freestanding bench were constructed from old triangular airplane hangar beams, directly referencing the building’s history. Custom neon signage and multiple art installations were developed in collaboration with Broslo and several established Norwegian artists. A bespoke floor installation featuring flying paper planes integrated with tube lighting became a defining feature of the space. The name and logo, Papirfly, were conceived as a direct nod to the site’s aviation heritage, reinterpreted with a modern, graphic paper plane symbol. The scope included full interior design, branding, logo development and illustration, resulting in a cohesive concept where architecture, history, and contemporary art were tightly interwoven.
